Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent
• 1–2 years healthcare experience
• 2–3 years insurance authorization experience

Responsibilities

• Receive field requests via EPIC for authorizations and update patient records
• Request authorizations from insurance companies and input into EMR
• Verify correct payer plan attached to patient records and communicate with payers
• Notify and coordinate with clinicians to ensure timely authorizations
• Maintain up-to-date benefit plan coverage and insurance documentation
• Assist billing staff with referrals and authorization-related issues
• Develop relationships with insurance case managers and document communications
