Job summary

UT Health ET Home Health is seeking a PRN Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist in Tyler, TX. You will deliver skilled, patient-centered treatment to improve strength, mobility, coordination, and independence in daily living activities.

Responsibilities include implementing treatment plans, guiding therapeutic activities, monitoring progress, educating patients and caregivers, and maintaining accurate documentation

• Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Implement individualized treatment plans developed by the supervising Occupational Therapist.
• Provide therapeutic activities and exercises to improve strength, coordination, mobility, and functional independence.
• Assist patients with developing or restoring skills needed for daily living and self-care.
• Monitor patient progress and communicate changes or concerns to the supervising Occupational Therapist.
• Educate patients and caregivers on therapeutic activities, adaptive techniques, and equipment use.
• Follow infection-control practices and standard precautions during all patient-care activities.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and complete clinical documentation.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and members of the interdisciplinary care team.
• Support the agency’s mission, policies, and standards of care.
