Requirements

What you bring to the table:

A desire to work alongside people with disabilities, make a significant contribution to the independent living movement and work with terrific teammates. You’re passionate, excited about making a meaningful impact, and ready to join an organization that leans into the challenges of educating our community about the importance of equal rights and empowerment for people with disabilities.

Specifically:

Urgently hiring 2-3 compassionate caregivers to provide early morning care, as well as evening care for two separate clients. One is located in the southeast part of Colorado Springs and the other in the northeast part of Colorado Springs. Caregiving tasks for these specific clients include, but are not limited to, meal prep, light housekeeping, dressing, bathing, wheelchair transfers, catheter care & a bowel program, and Hoyer transfers. We are open to hiring multiple caregivers for this unique opportunity to serve our clients 7 days a week.

Additional Requirements

  • Have a current driver’s license, good driving record, and reliable transportation.
  • Have current CPR certification or the ability to obtain it prior to hire.
  • Performs simple procedures under the direction, training and supervision of the client while following all policies and procedures (as described above).
  • Reports observed or reported changes in the client’s condition and/or needs to the supervisor.
  • Checks the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) regularly and reports errors in the schedule to the office staff immediately.
  • Documents all care provided to clients using the EMR. Charts arrival and departure times, travel times, and task codes. Notifies office staff immediately of any charting difficulties.
  • Frequently lift, push, pull, up to 25 lbs., and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
  • Home health field environment with a high level of contact with others, which may require personal protective equipment. A considerable amount of time is also spent walking and bending.
