Job summary

Right at Home Northwest Orange County, CA is seeking an experienced In Home Care Aide with a flexible schedule to join our care team delivering in-home clinical expertise. We focus on improving the quality of life for seniors and adults with disabilities.

The role includes personal care, transportation, meal preparation, light housekeeping, and medication reminders as taught by a Right at Home nurse. We offer paid training, competitive wages, and opportunities for ongoing development.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or preferred.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Pass a full employment background check.
• Be willing to provide personal care.
• Be willing to care for both female and male clients.
• Must provide negative TB test.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living (bathing, grooming).
• Provide transportation and accompany to appointments.
• Prepare meals according to instructions.
• Perform light housekeeping and laundry.
• Medication reminders as directed by a Right at Home nurse.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Performs personal care activities that assist the patient with activities of daily living which include (but are not limited to):

• Personal hygiene (assisting to bathroom or in using a bedpan, bathing, care of mouth, shaving, skin, and hair)
• Transportation
• Feeding
• Prepares meals according to instructions
• Performs housekeeping activities which include (but are not limited to): vacuuming, dusting, sweeping or mopping floors, doing dishes, changing bed linens, doing laundry

Performs patient-specific activities that are taught by a Right at Home nurse. These could include (but are not limited to):

• Medication reminders
• Assisting with the prescribed range of motion exercises
• Understanding dementia care
• Incontinence care
• Providing showers, bed baths, or sponge baths
• Providing brief changes or assistance with toileting

Qualifications and Skills:

• High school graduate or G.E.D. certificate preferred.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English as needed for the job.
• Must have the ability to pass a full employment background check
• Must be able to provide Negative Tuberculosis Test
• Be Willing to provide care to both Female and Males
• Be Willing to Provide Personal Care

Nice to Have’s:

• Home Care Aide (HCA) license is preferred
• Possess a valid driver’s license and an insured automobile
