Job summary

Maxim Healthcare Services, Inc. is hiring a Personal Care Assistant in Long Beach, CA to provide in-home support for clients’ daily activities and therapeutic care needs. Responsibilities include assisting with mobility, personal hygiene, and coordination with family and health resources.

The role requires state licensure or certification as needed, 1 year of relevant experience preferred, and current BLS. Strong communication in English and computer proficiency are essential.

Qualifications

• State licensure or certification as required by state and/or program.
• 1 year relevant experience preferred
• Current BLS Card
• Current PPD or Chest X-Ray
• Knowledge of child growth and development
• Coordinate and facilitate services between home, school, local health agency and community resources
• Clear English communications skills preferred
• Computer proficiency required
• Must be at least 18 years of age

Responsibilities

• Provides services to persons who need help with day-to-day activities
• Provides health care tasks, personal hygiene services, and other related support services essential to the client’s health
• Assists with transfers and ambulation
• Performs incidental household services that are an integral part of a personal care plan
• Provides companionship by reading, listening and talking with client
• Assists client in developing independent skills through self-care activities
• Reports changes in client status or as directed by care plan
• Performs other duties as assigned/necessary

Requirements

• Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to andfrom appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to,supervisors, co-workers, clients) viastrong communicationskills; proficiency inthe English language may berequired
• Computer proficiency required
• Must be at least 18 years of age
