We are looking for someone who can identify opportunities, develop compelling products quickly, and consistently deliver collections that are both visually appealing and commercially successful.

Key Responsibilities
  • Product Development: Lead the development of innovative, trend-forward home goods products and collections from initial concept through sampling and production.
  • Off-Price Retail Expertise: Develop products specifically suited to the off-price retail market, with a strong understanding of retailer expectations, target price points, customer preferences, and assortment strategies.

  • Trend Research & Forecasting: Identify and interpret current and emerging trends in home goods, interior design, color, materials, patterns, finishes, and consumer buying behavior.
  • Competitive Market Research: Regularly analyze products, pricing, assortments, and design trends across major off-price retailers to identify opportunities for new product development.
  • Design & Creative Direction: Develop product concepts, mood boards, color palettes, material selections, and collection presentations that reflect current trends and strong retail appeal.
  • AI-Assisted Product Development: Utilize AI-powered creative tools to accelerate product ideation, generate visual concepts, explore design variations, and streamline the product development process.
  • Cost-Effective Product Development: Work closely with sourcing and production teams to develop products that achieve competitive retail price points while maintaining quality, functionality, and elevated design.
  • Material & Manufacturing Knowledge: Apply a strong understanding of materials, finishes, construction techniques, and manufacturing capabilities to ensure products are both visually compelling and commercially feasible.
  • Vendor & Factory Collaboration: Communicate product specifications, design revisions, materials, and development requirements to overseas factories and manufacturing partners.
  • Sampling & Product Refinement: Review and evaluate product samples, recommend improvements, and ensure final products meet approved design, quality, and cost expectations.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with design, merchandising, sales, sourcing, and production teams to develop products that align with retailer needs and business objectives.
  • Fast-Paced Execution: Manage multiple product categories, collections, and development projects simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines and responding quickly to changing market demands.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience, ideally 3–7+ years, in home goods product development, with direct experience developing products for the off-price retail market.
  • Proven experience developing successful products or collections for major off-price retailers, including TJ Maxx, Marshalls, HomeGoods, Ross, Burlington, or similar retail accounts.
  • Strong understanding of the off-price retail business model, including competitive costing, retail price architecture, product value, assortment planning, and fast product development cycles.
  • Experience developing products across multiple home goods categories, including home décor, kitchenware, tabletop, bath and cleaning accessories, storage, bedding, textiles, and seasonal merchandise.
  • A strong portfolio or proven track record demonstrating successful product development, creative versatility, and commercial relevance.
  • Demonstrated design range with the ability to develop products across different aesthetics, styles, consumer demographics, and retail price points.
  • Strong understanding of current and emerging trends in home goods, interior design, color, materials, patterns, and finishes.
