Job summary

Paycom - ATS is seeking a Home Educator for the Camden, OH area to partner with Head Start families in their homes, promoting positive parent-child interactions and development-centered parenting. The role focuses on family well-being, goal-setting, and linking families to needed resources.

The position requires a CDA credential or equivalent, with an Associate degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred. Travel within the service area and a valid driver's license are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a home-based CDA credential or equivalent coursework.
• Associate degree in Early Childhood Education, Human Services, or related field preferred.
• Ability to lift 40 pounds and travel within service area.
• Valid driver’s license and driving history acceptable.
• Willing to undertake additional required training within 18 months.
• Background check, drug test, and physical required.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Head Start families in their home to promote positive parent–child interactions, development-centered parenting, and family well-being.
• Recruit, enroll and maintain eligible families; build rapport and provide ongoing services.
• Visit families weekly; document activities and progress; ensure access to developmental, social-emotional, medical and dental screenings.
• Coach parents in observation and documentation techniques, and in planning/implementing developmentally appropriate practices.
• Collaborate with local agencies; support IFSP/IEP goals; participate in meetings and ensure resources are available.

Minimum starting wage with an Associate’s and no experience is $22.06. Assist children and families with strengthening the skills needed for school and life. Work Experience Required: Home visiting experience preferred.2. Education and Training: Minimum of a home-based CDA credential or comparable credential or equivalent coursework as part of an associate’s or bachelor’s (college in lieu of associate’s or bachelor’s) degree. Associates degree in Early Childhood Education, Human Services, or related field preferred. Competent in planning and implementing home-based learning experiences. Willing to undertake, within 18 months, any additional required training for effective family support.3. Special Conditions: Ability to lift 40 pounds, stoop, bend, reach, move easily and work on the floor with families and small children. A valid driver’s license and a driving history acceptable to agency insurer. Involves extensive organizing, problem solving, record -keeping and time management; able to travel assigned service area extensively. Overnight travel for training may be required. Ability to work a flexible schedule.
