Job summary

AVANCE San Antonio seeks an experienced Home Educator to support parents in a home-based program and teach toy-making activities using the AVANCE Toy-making Manual. You will guide parents in creating educational toys aligned with AVANCE’s Parenting Curriculum and facilitate child-centered learning.

The role involves traveling to families’ homes, coordinating with staff, and delivering nutrition and health education as part of comprehensive family services.

Qualifications

• Requires Associate degree or CDA with 18 hours of early childhood development completed.
• Bachelor's degree preferred with 18 hours of early childhood development completed.
• Six months experience in a licensed childcare facility or related early childhood setting, or completed practicum requirements.

Responsibilities

• Promote AVANCE Core Values in all interactions and activities.
• Conduct 30-minute home visits per program participant, ensuring compliance with program requirements.
• Develop individualized family plans in collaboration with parents.
• Foster trusting, supportive relationships with families and caregivers.
