Job summary

Meals on Wheels People, Inc. in Oregon seeks a full-time Site Coordinator to ensure on-time meal delivery and to manage volunteers across our centers. You will support hunger relief programs, assist with partnerships and events, and maintain accurate records for clients and volunteers.

• Valid ServSafe certification or ability to obtain within 18 months of hire.
• CPR certification or ability to obtain within 18 months of hire.
• Valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and transportation.
• Bilingual in English/Spanish or other languages strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure on-time delivery of meals following program standards.
• Schedule volunteer drivers daily and maintain route information.
• Follow up with participants if a driver is unable to deliver a meal.
• Assist Site Manager in hunger relief services, partnerships, and programming.
• Screen, register, and train volunteers.
• Maintain and update client and volunteer information in data systems.
• Complete assigned administrative tasks and support events and fundraising initiatives.
• Uphold mission, vision, values, and strategic plan of Meals on Wheels People.

Meals on Wheels People is not just a job; it's a fantastic place to kickstart a rewarding career.Fantastic Benefits: Beyond just a job, we offer fantastic benefits that prioritize your well-being and job satisfaction.Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions)Ensure on-time delivery of meals to home-bound participants following Meals on Wheels People standards.Schedule volunteer drivers daily and maintain accurate route books.Follow up with participants if a driver is unable to deliver a meal.Manage participant care, including reassessments, change tracking, and record maintenance.Assist Site Manager in responsive hunger relief services, including supplemental meals, partnerships, contracts, ethnic meals, and programming for isolation.Aid in screening, registration, and training of volunteers.Maintain and update client and volunteer information in data management systems.Complete assigned administrative tasks.Support Meals on Wheels People events and fundraising initiatives.Participate in in-service training and required meetings.Uphold mission, vision, values, and strategic plan of Meals on Wheels People, Inc.Perform other assigned duties.Education & KnowledgeHigh School diploma or equivalent.Valid Food Handler’s Certification or ability to obtain within two weeks from the date of hire.Current ServSafe certification or ability to obtain one within 18 months of hire.Valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and transportation required.CPR certified or ability to obtain within 18 months from date of hireSkills, Abilities & ExperienceProven experience in effectively manage, engage and retain volunteers.Bilingual/Bicultural English/Spanish, Vietnamese, Russian, Asian or African languages strongly preferred.Excellent organizational, record keeping, time management and multi-tasking skills including the ability to set priorities and be flexible to last-minute changes.Ability to work in a team environment and effectively communicate with diverse populations including minority, low income and persons with disabilities.Strong ability to problem solve and implement solutions.Proficient in computer applications and MS Office suite.Ability to quickly learn new computer programs; experience with client data management systems a plusWorking Conditions/Physical DemandsFast paced, with significant people interaction.Ability to repetitively move 25lbs regularly and up to 50lbs; routinely moves cooler and cooler bags from one location to another and from various heights in preparation of and for the completion of meal delivery; ability to ascend stairs and move around on city sidewalks.Sitting for short periods of time and typing.Dexterity of hands and fingers required for operation of general office equipment.Must successfully complete and pass Meals on Wheels People pre-employment screeningAny satisfactory combination of experience, training and/or education which ensures the ability to perform the work may substitute for the above qualifications.DisclaimerThe preceding job description has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work performed by employees within this classification.
