Job summary
Salt City Trucking is seeking a Local CDL-A Intermodal Driver for a home-daily schedule in the St. Louis area. Operate on a dedicated intermodal route within a 300-mile radius, hauling containers on chassis with a mix of drop-and-hook, live load, and preloaded freight.
The role offers day and night shifts with weekly pay and pay features based on miles and loads completed. Experience requirements include a valid CDL-A and a minimum of 3 months tractor-trailer experience.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL is required.
- Minimum 3 months of verifiable tractor-trailer experience.
- Must be at least 22 years old.
- No more than 3 moving violations in the past 3 years, subject to restrictions.
- No more than 1 DOT-recordable preventable accident in the past 3 years.
- Must meet DOT Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse requirements.
- Must be able to read and speak English sufficiently for driving, communication, and required documentation.
Responsibilities
- Operate local dedicated intermodal routes within a 300-mile radius.
- Home daily with day and night shift options.
- Handle freight on containers secured to chassis; no hand-unloads.
- Slip-seat operation with day cab equipment.
- Adjust schedules based on freight volume, traffic, and weather.
