Job summary

Companion Homecare Ltd is seeking caring and reliable Support Workers to assist individuals in remaining safe and independent at home and in the community. The role is person-centred, with duties tailored to each person's needs and choices.

Responsibilities include personal care, medication support, meal prep, companionship and helping maintain independence, plus completing accurate care notes and following safeguarding policies. Training and DBS will be provided as required.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and listening skills to engage with service users, families and professionals.
• Reliability and excellent timekeeping as visits are scheduled.
• Ability to follow care plans, risk assessments and medication procedures.
• Willingness to complete mandatory training and DBS check as required.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care including help with washing, bathing, dressing and continence needs.
• Support with medication prompting or administration per care plan and MAR records.
• Prepare meals and ensure adequate nutrition and hydration.
• Offer companionship and reduce loneliness through conversation and engagement.
• Assist with light household tasks and maintain a clean, safe home environment.
• Support mobility and safe transfer with appropriate equipment.
• Encourage independence and help service users to complete tasks they can do themselves.
