Job summary

Metro Physical & Aquatic Therapy is seeking a Full-Time Occupational Therapist for our Homecare team in the Massapequa area. You will provide 1:1 occupational therapy in patients' homes, evaluate needs, and create individualized plans of care while documenting thoroughly for each visit.

The role requires NY OT licensure or eligibility, and the ability to travel within the territory. We offer a competitive salary, PTO, insurance, a 401(k), tuition reimbursement, and a stipend for specialty

Qualifications

• Licensed Occupational Therapist in New York or eligible.
• OT program graduate.

Responsibilities

• Accept and treat patients in designated geographic area.
• Provide 1:1 therapy sessions.
• Evaluate patients and develop individualized plans of care.
• Deliver care per professional standards and plan of care.
• Educate family members and caregivers on therapy techniques.
• Plan and carry out OT programs to improve function and relieve pain.
• Perform initial exams and diagnose before intervention.
• Provide timely documentation for each visit.
• Evaluate progress and adjust treatments for maximum benefit.
• Willingness to treat geriatric patients.

Job Description

Metro Physical & Aquatic Therapy is seeking a Full-Time Occupational Therapist to join our growing Homecare team. If you're passionate about helping patients regain independence in their homes, we want to hear from you!

Massapequa, Lindenhurst, Seaford, Wantagh areas | $85k-$95k | Homecare

What You'll Do

• Accept and treat patients within your designated geographic area
• Provide 1:1 treatment
• Evaluate patients and develop individualized treatment plans based on physician orders and patient needs
• Deliver care that aligns with professional standards, agency policies, and the prescribed plan of care
• Educate family members, home health aides, and other caregivers on proper therapy techniques
• Plan, and carry out occupational therapy programs to maintain, improve or restore physical function, relieve pain, and prevent occupational dysfunction in patients.
• Perform and document an initial exam, evaluating the data to identify problems and determine a diagnosis prior to intervention.
• Provide timely and accurate documentation for each visit
• Evaluate effects of treatment at various stages and adjust treatments to achieve maximum benefit
• Must be willing to treat geriatric patients.

Qualifications

• Occupational Therapist Program Graduate
• Licensed Occupational Therapist in the state of New York or eligible.
• Home health experience is preferred but not required - We will provide you with a mentor to help with documentation and compliance.
• Ability to travel to patients’ homes within the assigned geographic territory
• Strong communication skills between patients, support staff, and management, including timely responses via text, email, phone, etc.
