Job summary

Northwestern Medicine in Illinois is seeking a Medical Assistant for the Primary Care at Home Program. This role blends clinical support with transportation duties to ensure seamless homebound patient care and coordinated visits for providers.

You will perform venipuncture, collect specimens, prepare labs, maintain clean exam rooms, and support a fast-paced clinic. A valid driver’s license and BLS certification are required or obtainable within a set timeframe.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Certification eligibility for CMA/AMT/NCCT/NHA/NRCMA within 6 months of graduation.
• American Heart Association BLS certification.
• 0–2 years’ experience in a relevant role.

Responsibilities

• Assures efficient patient flow through the site and prepares patients for examination.
• Assists with ECG, venipuncture, immunizations, and CLIA‑waived testing as directed.
• Maintains clean exam rooms, inventories vaccines/medications, and orders supplies.
• Interacts professionally with patients and care team to promote satisfaction.
• Performs delegated procedures and supports the supervisor as needed.
• Represents responsibilities in alignment with clinic protocols.
