Job summary

Institute on Aging is seeking Home Care Aides to provide compassionate in-home support for older adults and people with disabilities across the Bay Area. Responsibilities include personal care, mobility assistance, meal prep, errands, and companionship to enhance quality of life.

Applicants should have at least 1 year of relevant caregiving experience, be English proficient, and able to work with diverse populations.

Qualifications

• English language proficiency is a must.
• Home Care Services Bureau registration and background clearance.
• Livescan/Fingerprinting clearance; TB clearance required.
• Proof of eligibility to work in the U.S. (2 forms of I-9 compliant IDs).
• At least 1 year of non-medical caregiving experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist with personal care including bathing, dressing and grooming.
• Drive or accompany clients to shopping, errands or doctor appointments.
• Assist with transfers, ambulation, or exercise.
• Meal preparation including special diets; feeding assistance.
• Light housekeeping, laundry, and dish duties.
• Medication reminders and respite/companionship.
• Mobility support and patient engagement.
