Job summary

The Center for Justice Innovation is seeking a Functional Family Therapy (FFT) Therapist for a Queens, NY based violence prevention program. The FFT Therapist will deliver home-based therapy to youth and families, using evidence-based FFT to reduce recidivism and engage high-risk youth in a strengths-based approach.

Responsibilities include direct services in homes or community settings, collaboration with families, documentation, and participation in trainings and supervision.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in social work, counseling, education, or other relevant human service profession.
• Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide home-based Functional Family Therapy (FFT) in adherence to model fidelity with services in homes, office, or community settings.
• Engage clients through creative, persistent engagement and build strong therapeutic relationships.
• Collaborate with families using a strengths-based approach to promote growth and change.
• Advocate for youth and families and support empowerment and problem-solving at convenient locations.
• Coordinate with referral sources to connect families to FFT and related services.
• Attend FFT trainings, supervision, and team meetings; document progress in CSS system.
• Maintain caseload up to 12 cases and ensure timely record-keeping.
