Job summary

Acelero Learning in The Bronx, NY is seeking a Home Based Visitor to work with 10-12 families, implementing Head Start/Early Head Start curricula and supporting development for children and families.

You will collaborate with a team of Home-Based Visitors, conduct weekly visits of 90+ minutes, address health and education needs, and document progress to tailor support for diverse backgrounds.

Qualifications

• Possession of a Home-Based CDA credential OR an equivalent credential (e.g., an Associate's or Bachelor's degree with relevant Early Childhood Education (ECE) or Infant/Toddler coursework).
• Experience and skills in assisting parents with advocacy and decision-making. Knowledge of adult learning is a plus.
• Regular local travel to and from families' homes, the main office, and program sites, with limited additional travel (up to ~10%) for in-person training and meetings with Shine.
• Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
• Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation for frequent local travel.

Responsibilities

• Work with 10-12 families to support development of child and family.
• Implement home-visiting curriculum with activities for social interaction and engagement.
• Document progress using observations and notes; tailor curriculum.
• Provide family-centered services and connect families to resources.
• Conduct 46 weekly home visits per family, each at least 90 minutes.
• Plan 22 group socialization activities per school year.
• Support health, nutrition, mental health and disabilities services.
• Conduct screenings and refer for special needs; create goals.
• Collaborate with families on Family Success Road Maps and health requirements.
• Advocate and link families with community resources.
• Maintain confidential records in electronic systems.
• Attend meetings, events and training as required.
