Fluvanna County Public Schools seeks to hire Home based and Homebound Instructors to fill immediate needs within the division. We are looking for Home based and Homebound Instructors for Fluvanna County Public School students who require specific types of instruction.
The location of services may occur in the student’s home or a healthcare facility. If services are in the home, the parent or guardian must identify an adult who will be present at all times and agree to confine all pets prior to the arrival of the homebound teacher. If the home setting is not deemed appropriate for instruction and the student’s condition allows, instruction may take place at the school, the public library, or another agreed upon location.

Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree and valid Virginia Teaching license with required endorsements.
Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedure manuals; write routine reports and correspondence; speak effectively before groups of parents, teachers, and school board.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume; apply basic algebra and geometry concepts.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and handle a variety of concrete variables in situations with limited standardization; interpret instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Valid Virginia Driver’s license; valid Virginia Teaching license.
Regularly required to talk or hear; stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; lift overhead, above shoulders, and horizontally; lift and move up to 50 pounds; push items of 50 pounds; perform other physical tasks as described.
Must be able to work both inside and outside, in various degrees of noise, temperature, and air quality; interruptions are routine; flexibility and patience required; self‑motivated and able to complete job assignments under stressful conditions; after‑hours work may be required; may be exposed to physical outbursts by students.
Performance will be evaluated in accordance with school board policy and administrative regulations on evaluation of personnel.
