The substitute positions include teacher substitutes at $115.00 per day, and other roles at $105.00 to $155.00 per day. The substitute teacher will work in the absence of a regular teacher, with assignments and locations

Reports To: Principal,Assistant Superintendent

Substitute positions include the following:

• Teacher substitute $115.00 per day
• Non-teaching position/assignment $105.00 per day
• Instructional Assistant substitute $105.00 per day
• Homebound Instructor $35.00 per hour (may require licensure/credentials - see separate job posting to apply)
• School Nurse substitute $155.00 per day (requires license - see separate job posting to apply)

SUMMARY

The substitute teacher will work in the absence of a regular teacher. Assignments and locations may vary daily based on the needs of the school(s) and division.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Minimum Requirements: High school diploma or general education degree (GED);Experience working with children preferred.

Complete theFluvanna County Public School Substitute Training Workshop prior to the start of employment.

*All substitutes must attend a FCPS Substitute Training Workshop prior to the start of employment. FCPS will notify applicants via email of upcoming workshop dates.*

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
