Job summary

Hoar Construction is seeking a Hoist Operator for our Chattanooga job sites. You will transport workers, equipment, and materials to various floors while maintaining a safe work environment.

Responsibilities include daily safety checks on the hoist, communicating with crew via walkie talkies, and ensuring doors and floor plates span gaps properly. You will perform weekly maintenance and enforce lockout/tagout procedures, keep access clear, inspect safety features, and prepare gear for the next

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• English reading/writing excellent; Spanish optional.
• Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Inspect the hoist and complete safety checklists on all floors daily.
• Distribute walkie talkies to each level to aid communication.
• Open/close doors and place floor plate to span gaps between hoist and slab.
• Perform weekly maintenance and follow lockout/tagout procedures.
• Maintain clear access from hoist ramp to dumpsters and keep area clean.
• Inspect handrails, overhead protection, and exterior fence daily.
• Lock out power to hoist at end of shift.
• Gather walkie talkies and charge for next day.
