Job summary

Lynch Family Companies in South Dakota is seeking a dependable livestock handler responsible for sorting, weighing, tattooing, and proper care of cattle. The role requires regular attendance, overtime and weekend work as needed.

You will maintain livestock inventory, assist with loading/unloading, and collaborate with yard personnel. The position includes administrative duties and routine grounds and equipment maintenance; CDL may be required.

Qualifications

• Experience with handling livestock, sorting, weighing and tattooing preferred.
• Ability to maintain accurate livestock inventory and records.
• Willingness to work overtime, weekends and holidays as needed.
• Must have or be able to obtain a CDL and a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Sort, count, weigh and tattoo livestock.
• Maintain accurate inventory of livestock and handle loading/unloading.
• Work with yard personnel to ensure proper care of livestock.
• Perform administrative duties related to livestock management.
• General maintenance of grounds, facilities, and equipment.

Responsible for the proper handling of livestock that includes: sorting, counting, weighing, and tattooing.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Must be capable of regular and predictable attendance
  • Able to work overtime as needed
  • Able to work weekends and holidays as needed
• Maintain accurate inventory of livestock
  • Sorting
  • Loading/unloading
• Work directly with yard personnel
• Ensure that livestock is properly cared for
• Administrative responsibilities
• General Maintenance of grounds, facilities, and equipment
  • Alleyways, pens, and chutes
  • Vehicles and skid steers
  • Mowing and weeding
  • Office/Restroom cleaning
• Performs other duties as needed and/or assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Valid driver’s license and insurable under company guidelines
  • Must have or be able to obtain a CDL
• Maintain certification and follow all TQA Guidelines in the Humane Handling of Livestock
