The Rinks is seeking a Hockey Instructor, Level 1 in Anaheim to assist on-ice and at skill-development stations. You will help with Learn to Play sessions, initiations, and various hockey programs, ensuring a fun and safe guest experience.

We value energetic, organized individuals who can work nights, weekends, and holidays, with a positive coaching style and strong teamwork. Must have USA Hockey Certification and CAHA screening per requirements.

Qualifications

• Must have at least 3 years hockey experience and on-ice skills.
• Must meet USA Hockey and CAHA screening requirements.
• Ability to ice skate and lift up to 25 pounds while skating.

Responsibilities

• Assist Learn to Play Hockey programs on- and off-ice activities, including check-in and gear help.
• Support Hockey Initiation programs and skill development stations.
• Help with ice setup, pucks, nets, and equipment; stay at assigned stations.
• Interact with players and parents; maintain a fun, safe learning environment.
• Attend team sessions and review on-ice plans with Head Coach/Instructor.

Our program’s success begins with providing our guests with a great experience at our facilities.Hockey Instructors are the instrumental staff responsible for upholding our Rinks standards while making the guest experience great. Hockey Instructors should be dynamic, keep players engaged, organized, and safe, and ensure that the players have fun.Hockey Instructors, Level 1 are responsible for assisting on and off the ice and teaching at skill development stations for all Hockey Development programs.**Responsibilities*** Assist Learn to Play Hockey programming on and off-ice activities, including check-in, assisting players with gear, rink supplies set up, and other assigned duties* Assist Hockey Initiation programs, including teaching skill development stations* Support all Rinks hockey programs and assist skill development for all assigned Rinks programs, including rec-league clinics and practices* Be a positive ambassador for the sport of hockey and The Rinks* Hockey Coaches/Instructors are responsible for assisting at Hockey Initiation, Ducks Learn to Play Hockey, Score a Goal, Little Ducks, Hockey Camps, and coach Rink teams as assigned* Hockey Instructors should be at the Rink at least 30 minutes before scheduled sessions and be ready to go onto the ice 15 minutes before players take the ice* Meet with the Head Hockey Coach/ Instructor before scheduled sessions to review on ice plan* Interact with players and parents before taking the ice* Assist with ice set up, pucks, nets, etc.* Set a standard for development by using positive reinforcement when coaching* Stop and teach, be present and friendly, interact with all participants, and make it fun* Stay with your assigned skill station and keep the group organized* Be familiar with Rinks “Next Steps” Programs* Make sure all interactions with players are fun and productive* Attend monthly Rinks “Power Play” team building sessions* Other duties as assigned**Skills*** Minimum 18 years of age* Must have 3 years of hockey experience* Can demonstrate on-ice hockey skills* Meet all USA Hockey and CAHA screening requirements and hold a Level 1 or 2 USA Hockey coaching credential* Must be able to ice skate and lift and carry up to 25 pounds while skating* Excellent interpersonal skills and strong leadership skills* Able to excel in a team atmosphere* Demonstrate a fun, energetic, and outgoing personality* Organized; can multi-task and solve problems in a fast-paced work environment* Flexible schedule; must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required* Team player who enjoys working in a team environment* Have knowledge and a clear understanding of the USA Hockey American Development Model Association Program (ADM)* Possess a valid driver’s license, automobile liability insurance, and a good driving record* Customer service oriented* Previous marketing and promotional event experience preferred* Hardworking, detail-oriented, and results-oriented* Project a professional image that reflects our Rinks company values* Passion for teaching* Possesses dynamic characteristics – energetic, assertive, driven, enthusiastic, and fun**Knowledge, Skills, and Experience****Education -** High School Diploma or Equivalent**Certifications Required – USA Hockey Certification, Safe Sport, and other CAHA state requirements****Experience Required -** 1-2 Year
