Job summary

The Detroit Red Wings are seeking a full-time Data Engineer to support all internal data and infrastructure initiatives within Hockey Operations. The role reports to the Director of Statistical Analysis.

Responsibilities include managing hockey data pipelines, data quality, and modernization of legacy systems to enable analytics and software tools across the organization. Evening and weekend hours may be required.

Qualifications

• Understanding of modern data engineering best practices.
• Expertise with large-scale relational databases, data modeling, and SQL.
• Experience building data warehouses for data science and analytics.

Responsibilities

• Manage the consumption, storage, and maintenance of all hockey data.
• Design automated processes to oversee data integrity and query performance.
• Migrate/modernize legacy pipelines and build new ones to improve data integration.
• Oversee the integration of data into hockey analytics and software systems.
