Oak View Group in Palm Desert operates the Berger Foundation Iceplex hockey programs and seeks a Hockey Coach to assist with on-ice instruction, skill development, and event support in a hands-on, part-time role.

The position pays an hourly rate of $20.00–$22.00 and will remain open through October 9, 2026. Ideal candidates are enthusiastic, dependable, with USA Hockey membership and SafeSport certification; coaching or youth program experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• USA Hockey membership and SafeSport certification are required.
• Ability to skate proficiently and demonstrate basic hockey skills.
• Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Strong communication and ability to work with participants of all ages.

Responsibilities

• Assist with on-ice instruction for hockey classes, practices, and clinics.
• Support lead coaches during group sessions and events.
• Maintain attendance and assist with basic skill evaluations.
• Ensure a safe, positive, and inclusive environment for all participants.
• Communicate Iceplex rules, procedures, and expectations to players and parents.
• Prepare equipment and assist with maintaining a safe on-ice environment.
• Provide basic first aid when required.
• Follow all Iceplex and USA Hockey safety standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Hockey Department.

• Assist with on‑ice instruction for hockey classes, practices, and clinics
• Support lead coaches during group sessions and events
• Maintain attendance and assist with basic skill evaluations
