Job summary

Chart, Inc. is seeking an engineer to design and validate HLH2 vehicle fuel systems. You will create 3D models, drawings, and specifications, and perform FEA and crash simulations to ensure safety and compliance.

You will collaborate with teams in the US and Europe to address manufacturability and tooling requirements, while supporting testing and documentation. Ideal candidates hold a BS in Mechanical Engineering with 3+ years in heavy truck or automotive contexts, proficient CAD skills, and

Qualifications

  • BS degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in Heavy Truck / Automotive industry as OEM supplier or manufacturer is a plus.
  • Strong 3D modeling and design experience with AutoCAD/Inventor and/or SolidWorks.
  • Experience performing FEA using SolidWorks or ANSYS.
  • Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, FMEA, and Control Plans is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Product design, documentation, and support for HLH2 vehicle fuel systems.
  • Develop design solutions addressing end customer requirements.
  • Create iterations of designs using 3D CAD software.
  • Evaluate designs via FEA; conduct vibration, shock, cycle fatigue, and crash simulations.
  • Create 3D models and 2D drawings for components and tanks.
  • Cascade specifications to suppliers and discuss with Product Engineer.
  • Participate in packaging studies and testing to validate designs.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, IATF 16949 and customer requirements.
  • Provide technical information for components and assemblies.
  • Contribute to DFMEA and DVP&R development.
