Job summary

Zaden Technologies in Huntsville, AL is seeking an experienced HL7 interface engineer to maintain HL7 v2.4 interfaces in production as the program migrates to FHIR. You will own the interface control documents, operate the interface engine, and address message-level issues to keep the system running.

The role requires U.S. citizenship, ability to obtain Tier 3 and IT-II designations, and will involve working under DoD program governance with 24x7 operations as needed.

Qualifications

• 5+ years operating HL7 v2 interfaces in production healthcare environments
• Experience with an interface engine in production (Rhapsody, Mirth or equivalent)
• Experience writing or maintaining interface control documents
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain Tier 3 investigation and IT-II designation

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor HL7 v2.4 interfaces, including Z-segments, over MLLP and HTTP-wrapped transports
• Baseline and maintain interface control documents for every connected partner
• Triage message failures, acknowledgment problems and partner-side changes, and run them to closure
• Support shadow comparison and cutover testing as each interface moves to FHIR
• Hold privileged production access under the program's security rules

Job description

Zaden Technologies is a defense technology company based in Huntsville, Alabama. We build AI, DevSecOps and digital engineering products and put them to work for DoD customers.

This position is contingent upon contract award. It supports a new Defense Health Agency program, and the start date follows award and Government access.

You'll keep the legacy HL7 v2 interfaces of a health data exchange platform running around the clock while the program moves them to FHIR R4 one at a time. You'll own the interface control documents, run the interface engine, and work the message-level problems that reach the operations lane.

What you'll do:

Must have:

• 5 or more years operating HL7 v2 interfaces in a production healthcare environment
• An interface engine in production (Rhapsody, Mirth or an equivalent)

• U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain the Tier 3 investigation and IT-II designation this privileged role needs

Nice to have:

• An active Secret clearance or Secret eligibility
• FHIR R4 exposure
• DoD or VA health IT experience
• 24x7 operations or on-call experience

Location: Remote within the United States. Zaden's home office is Huntsville, Alabama.
