Job summary

State of Florida, Department of Health, Sunshine Care Center in Orange County, seeks a Health Support Technician to assist in ambulatory care under licensed practitioners. The role includes vital signs, lab support, patient documentation, and coordination with RNs and physicians.

Preferred candidates may have MA/CNA certification and bilingual abilities in English and Spanish or Creole, with daily in-office commitment and readiness for disaster duties.

Qualifications

• Three months of verifiable HIV/STD care or outpatient medical experience.
• Six months of verifiable clinical customer service experience.
• Experience with Electronic Medical Records documenting patient information.
• Must report to the office daily to perform duties.
• Authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
• Willing to perform emergency duties during disasters or emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Provide routine healthcare under supervision in an ambulatory care setting.
• Take vital signs, height/weight, and assist with required/ordered labs.
• Support RNs with screenings, intake, assessments, and referrals.
• Enter and maintain patient records and prep exam rooms.
• Attend SCC program meetings and other duties as assigned.
