Job summary

The University of Chicago’s BSD MED Infectious Diseases program in Chicago is hiring a Pharmacy Technician to coordinate medication deliveries and refills, and to obtain prior authorizations for prescriptions. This grant-funded role supports injectable ARV logistics, patient outreach, and inventory management within HIV elimination initiatives.

Qualifications

• Pharmacy technician experience.
• License or eligibility for licensure as Registered Pharmacy Technician in Illinois.
• Strong communication, organization and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate medication deliveries to clinic and patients' homes.
• Initiate, submit and follow up on prior authorization requests for medications.
• Manage injectable ARV medication inventory per protocol.
• Assist with injectable ARV related deliveries in the community as needed.
• Document study encounters and support data monitoring for research activities.
• Communicate status of prescriptions and prior authorizations to providers and patients.
