Job summary

Rocket Lab is conducting an HITL Engineering Intern position at its Long Beach, CA site. You will gain hands-on interaction with real hardware, learn to handle incomplete specifications, and participate in structured debugging with engineering judgment.

A strong mentor system and growth opportunities are central to the role. You will work in a fast-paced team to apply engineering concepts to solve real challenges, attend regular 1:1s, and engage in tech talks and intern events that help build

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in a bachelor’s, master's or doctorate degree program in an engineering, physics or math discipline and have at least one semester of school remaining post internship.
• GPA 3.0 or above.
• 3+ months of applied engineering experience (internship, laboratory, and personal/team project experience is applicable)
• Nice-to-have: GPA 3.5+, 6+ months of applied engineering experience, knowledge of Systems Engineering and Mechatronics, Python experience

Responsibilities

• Work closely with a mentor and team to apply engineering concepts to real hardware challenges.
• Support HITLSystems with debugging and structured engineering judgement.
• Attend regular check-ins with mentors to track progress and learning.
• Engage in tech talks and events to network with interns and employees
