Qualifications

• 1+ years as an ASCP Histotechnician / Histotechnologist preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in relevant scientific field.
• Nationally recognized certification HT (ASCP) or HTL (ASCP) is required.

Responsibilities

• Receives tissue specimens and ensures proper accessioning and labeling.
• Processes paperwork associated with accessioning and reporting.
• Performs microtomy according to established Standard Operating Procedures.
• Maintains laboratory in a clean, functional state.

Basic understanding of laboratory techniques

Possesses appropriate computer skills

Ability to work independently

Education

Bachelor of Science in chemical, biological, or clinical laboratory science

Associate of Science in a laboratory science or medical laboratory technology

Equivalent education with 60 semester hours including 24 in biological and chemical sciences
