Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and one year of experience as a Histology Technician; or licensed as a Histology Technologist.
• Preferred: Histology Technologist license with 2+ years of hands-on molecular diagnostic experience (FISH/IHC).
• This position is eligible for veterans' preference; DD 214 may be requested.

Responsibilities

• Prepare tissues for histology and electron microscopy; accessioning and labeling of requisitions.
• Perform staining, IHC, and immunofluorescence on tissues; process and examine specimens.
• Quality control, QA, and proficiency testing; participate in validations and quality initiatives.
• Identify blocks for molecular testing and ensure DNA/RNA yield for NGS and related assays.
