Responsibilities

• Accessions specimens, embeds tissue, cuts blocks and makes slides.
• Stains slides using routine special and immunohistochemical staining methods.
• Maintains equipment and documents QC procedures.
• Assists in orientation of new employees and stays current with technical knowledge.
• Assists pathologists in various tasks and performs frozen sections.
• May cross-train in other duties within the laboratory.
