Job summary

City of Hope is seeking a histology laboratory professional to support operations in the Division of Surgical Pathology. The successful candidate will troubleshoot processing and staining issues and assist with inspections and SOP writing.

The role involves developing new laboratory procedures, managing inventory using LEAN/six sigma principles, and working within an Electronic LIS to ensure smooth lab workflows.

Qualifications

• Associates degree is required.
• Completion of a certified clinical program in medical laboratory sciences in histopathology or equivalent education/years of experience.
• ASCP HT or HTL certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot technical, processing, and staining issues.
• Assist in laboratory maintenance for State, CMS, and CAP inspections, including SOP writing and inspection participation.
• Develop new laboratory procedures.
• Manage laboratory inventory and supplies based on LEAN/six sigma principles.
• Possess the skill sets to work within an Electronic LIS.
