University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is seeking a Histotechnologist for the Pathology Lab Med - Nephropath unit in Chapel Hill, NC. The role involves processing and staining tissue specimens from renal patients for immunofluorescence, light, and electron microscopy, with cross‑training across the modalities.

The position is a 6‑month or longer, full‑time temporary assignment (40 hours/week), typically Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM, with some flexibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in medical technology, chemistry, or a biological science or equivalent training/experience.
• Compliance with CLIA regulations may be required for some positions.

Responsabilités

• Perform diagnostic laboratory procedures on tissue specimens from renal diseases.
• Process, embed, section, stain and store/retrieve samples for immunofluorescence, light, and electron microscopy.
• Cross‑train in immunofluorescence, light and electron microscopy as needed.
• Serve as a technical resource for residents, fellows, students and staff.
