Job summary
Tidelands Health is seeking a Histotechnologist II to perform routine histology, including fixation, processing, embedding, microtomy, and H&E/Special stains, with immunohistochemistry as needed. They will assist pathologists and maintain QC documentation in a safety-focused environment.

Qualifications
- Associate's Degree with biology and chemistry coursework required or a Bachelor's Degree with biology and chemistry.
- Minimum 1 year histology lab experience; hospital setting preferred.
- Histotechnologist/Histotechnician certification required.
Responsibilities
- Assign accession numbers to specimens in Histology.
- Set processing schedules and delays for weekends/holidays.
- Notify senior tech of discrepancies in tissue processors.
- Ensure timely turnaround time and correct tissue orientation.
- Cut slides with proper orientation and thickness.
- Prepare and maintain stains for H&E and special stains.
- Monitor automated slide stainer for throughput.
- Process non-gyn specimens.
- Assist pathologist and staff with FNA.
