Job summary

Labcorp in Torrance, CA is seeking a Laboratory Assistant I to join our Histology team. This role supports tissue processing, reagent handling, quality control, data entry, and instrument housekeeping to ensure accurate analysis and timely turnaround.

The position requires a High School Diploma, with preferred one year laboratory assistant experience or an Associates Degree (experience may substitute). Work schedule is Monday to Friday 6am to 2:30pm, with overtime as needed; the role demands

Qualifications

• High School Diploma
• One year laboratory assistant experience preferred
• Associates Degree; experience may be substituted for education.

Responsibilities

• Successfully performs the specific department duties as set forth in the task list and/or department training checklist.
• Adheres to established Safety SOPs and Universal Precaution guidelines at all times. Maintains a clean, organized and safe work environment.
• Demonstrates proficiency in applicable computer systems and software.
• Properly handles specimens and resolves specimen issues independently in preparation for analysis and storage.
