Job summary

Mayo Clinic in the United States is seeking a Histotechnologist/Histotechnician to prepare tissues for microscopic diagnosis in the Anatomic Pathology lab using manual and automated methods. You will produce slides of good to superior quality and collaborate with pathologists to deliver timely results.

Requires a Diploma/Certificate or AS in Histology with practicum; HT/HTL registry eligibility; strong organizational skills, manual dexterity, and English communication.

Qualifications

• Histology-specific education with clinical practicum in Anatomic Pathology.
• HT/HTL registry or eligibility; initial certification required.
• Foreign-trained applicants must provide a detailed US equivalency evaluation (NACES/AICE).
• Must be highly organized, detail oriented, able to multitask, and able to communicate in English.

Responsibilities

• Prepare tissues for microscopic diagnosis using manual, semi-automated and automated technologies.
• Maintain tissue integrity from pre-analytic to post-analytic phases in Anatomic Pathology.
• Produce slides of good to superior quality and work with Pathologist to provide timely slides.
