Job summary

Nemours Children’s Health in Orlando, FL is seeking a Histotechnologist (Full-Time) to join our Anatomic Pathology team. The role involves microtomy, embedding, frozen sections and staining of surgical tissues, with on-call responsibilities as required.

Responsibilities include preparing stained slides, handling specimens, and assisting pathologists in tissue evaluation. Requires an Associate degree, FL license, and HT/HTL certification; IHC experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate degree required with Florida licensure in histology.
• National histology certification required or in progress.
• 1–3 years histology experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform histology procedures including microtomy, embedding, frozen sections and staining.
• Prepare slides for microscopic evaluation and assist pathologists as needed.
• Operate and maintain lab equipment and ensure safety procedures are followed.
• Participate in on-call coverage and document laboratory activities.
• Assist with specimen logging, quality checks, and inventory management.
