Job summary

Orlando Health is seeking a Histotechnologist I to process surgical, autopsy, and study specimens for pathologic diagnosis. Responsibilities include fixation, processing, freezing, microtomy, sectioning, and staining slides for microscopic examination by the Pathologist.

The role is scheduled Night Shift Full-time 40 hours per week from 10pm-6am, based in Orlando, FL. Strong emphasis on quality control and adherence to policy, with opportunities for career growth within a leading regional

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Graduate from an approved school of Histotechnology is required.
• Current Florida license as Clinical Laboratory Technologist; ASCP HT/HTL certification or eligible.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic histotechnology staining techniques.
• Operates computerized equipment for processing and staining specimens.
• Uses the laboratory computer system to add, cancel, and verify completed orders.
• Performs and documents quality control and preventive maintenance procedures.
• Maintains compliance with Orlando Health policies and procedures.
