Job summary

Jefferson Health in Philadelphia seeks a Histotechnician/Histotechnologist to process and prepare tissues for diagnosis using embedding, microtomy, staining, and special techniques.

The role requires an associate degree or HT(ASCP) certification with 1–2 years’ lab experience; training during studies is acceptable. Evening shift; hospital-based team environment in a major health system.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in related life science or HT/ASCP certification.
• 1–2 years of laboratory experience preferred; student training accepted.

Responsibilities

• Performs histological procedures including embedding, cutting, and staining tissues.
• Maintains reagents and equipment and troubleshoots instrument issues.
• Uses computer systems to receive orders and record data.
• Communicates specimen submission requirements to clinical staff.
• Participates in orientation and continuing education programs.
• Supports quality control and proficiency testing activities.
