Job summary

Astrix is seeking a Histotechnician in Houston, TX for a 6 month contract to hire. The role involves high-quality IHC staining, tissue processing, and instrument maintenance in a GLP/GMP-compliant CRO environment.

The ideal candidate holds an ASCP Histotechnologist certification or equivalent, with a biology degree and hands-on IHC experience. On-site schedule is Monday to Friday, 8am-5pm, with competitive hourly pay.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor's degree in Biology or related field.
• ASCP Histotechnologist certification.
• Experience with IHC.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality IHC staining, including antibody optimization, slide preparation, and protocol execution in a regulated laboratory environment.
• Prepare, embed, cut, and stain tissue samples following established SOPs, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance with GLP/GMP standards.
• Operate and maintain histology and IHC instrumentation, troubleshoot technical issues, and document all work according to CRO reporting requirements.
• Review slides for quality, identify artifacts or staining issues, and collaborate with pathologists/scientists to ensure reliable and reproducible results.

Pay: $36-50/hr

Schedule: M-F 8a-5p

Job Duties
