Job summary

Labcorp in San Diego, CA seeks a Histotechnician to join our team, working Monday–Friday with early morning hours. You will process tissue samples, prepare slides, and perform immunohistochemical tests to support accurate patient results.

Ideal candidates hold an associate’s degree in Histology or equivalent, have 2+ years of histology experience, and may possess Labcorp experience or ASCP certification. Join a high-volume lab emphasizing quality and safety.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Histology or a high school diploma with histology experience.
• 2 years of histotechnician experience.
• Current or prior Labcorp experience; Histology and/or ASCP certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process human tissue and body fluid specimens for microscopic examination.
• Prepare histopathology slides from surgical specimens.
• Section embedded tissue with a microtome and mount on slides.
• Perform immunohistochemical tests on formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissues.
• Carry out routine and special staining procedures.
• Maintain quality control and document results accurately.
• Operate and maintain lab instruments and logs of equipment.
• Adhere to SOPs and safety protocols.
