Job summary

Mercy is seeking a histology support professional to perform computer functions, process patient specimens, and maintain department inventory and equipment. The role requires a High School diploma or equivalent and HT(ASCP) certification, with preferred Associate's degree and computer experience.

You will perform routine histological procedures, adhere to patient identification and lab safety policies, and help develop department SOPs while supporting Mercy's mission and values in daily tasks.

Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
• Certification: HT(ASCP).
• Preferred Education: Associate's degree.
• Preferred Experience: Computer experience.
• Preferred Certification: Preferred.
• Other Skills and Knowledge: Medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Performs computer functions, processes patient specimens, maintains department inventory.
• Operates and maintains equipment, and performs record-keeping tasks and QI functions.
• Performs routine histological procedures.
• Adheres to patient identification, Lab safety, and Mercy Lab and department policies and procedures.
• Develops standard operating procedures in department.
• Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with Mercy mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.
