Job summary

Mayo Clinic is hiring a Histotechnician I to contribute to surgical pathology processing at our Scottsdale/Phoenix campuses. The role involves embedding, microtomy, staining, and high-complexity testing with opportunities to train others and maintain lab equipment.

Requires AS/ASCP histology credentials or NAACLS accreditation and either certification or the plan to obtain HT (ASCP) within 18 months. This is a full-time, on-site position with travel between campuses may be required.

Qualifications

• Associate of Science degree in histology or completion of a NAACLS-accredited Histology Program or equivalent per CLIA-88 regulations.
• Two years of histology experience is preferred.
• HT (ASCP) certification is required or must be obtained within 18 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Process, embed and microtomy of surgical tissues and specimens.
• Perform cryotomy, and H&E and special staining; high complexity testing as needed.
• Maintain equipment, records, and contribute to staff training.
• May travel between Scottsdale and Phoenix campuses.
