Job summary

Bronson Healthcare seeks a Histotechnologist/Histology Technician for the 2nd shift (1:00p–11:30p) at BMH Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo, MI. You will prepare tissue sections, stain using specialized dyes, and assist pathologists with diagnoses.

The role requires prior NAACLS HT program completion or equivalent education, with recent hands-on histology experience. Strong attention to detail, safety, and the ability to work independently are essential.

Qualifications

• Must have completed a NAACLS accredited Histotechnician program within the last five years.
• 60 semester hours with biology/chemistry or an associate degree with biology/chemistry combination, within last five years.
• May include a 50-week U.S. military histotechnician training course within the last ten years.

Responsibilities

• Prepare histological slides by examining, fixing and processing human tissue sections for microscopic examination and diagnosis.
• Maintain competency in pre-analytical, analytical and post-analytical phases of testing; follow QC and safety policies.
• Train new laboratory staff and students; assist in orientation and mentorship as assigned.
