Job summary

The Minnesota Historical Society invites interns to support the TED Team by coordinating social media and communications for K-12 programs. You will research, implement an Instagram and Facebook strategy, plan a content calendar, and produce monthly newsletters with regular updates.

The role emphasizes research, analytics, and collaboration with Strategic Communications to create images/videos as needed; participation in three in-person seminars and a final presentation is required.

Qualifications

Currently enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student, or have graduated within the past 12 months at the time of application.
Ideal candidates might be pursuing or have a degree in Education, History, Media Studies, Public Relations, Marketing, or related field.
Self-motivated and comfortable using social-media technologies with excellent written communication.
Experience with Facebook, Instagram, and other social media outlets.

Responsibilities

Work with Teacher Education staff to research, design, develop, and implement social media plan.
Develop content for Instagram and Facebook (@HistoryEdMNHS).
Research online tools, social media strategies, and recommend future initiatives.
Attend social media meetings with supervisor and strategic communications as appropriate.
Develop and design monthly teacher email newsletters.
Increase Instagram and Facebook engagement.
Conduct research to grow engagement with the teacher audience.
Suggest, develop, and oversee other projects as assigned.
