Job summary

The Bentonville Battlefield State Historic Site is seeking a Historic Site Manager III to oversee administrative management and interpretive services for a large NC state historic site. You will supervise staff, preserve historic features, manage visitor services and develop educational programming.

Responsibilities include budget oversight, payroll, procurement, and coordinating community engagement with local groups. Requires a history-related degree and prior site management experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in history or related field from an accredited institution.
• Two years of experience in managing operation of a historic site, historical research, or related field.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience accepted.

Responsibilities

• Supervise full-time, temporary staff and volunteers.
• Oversee preservation of site features, historic buildings and grounds; manage visitor services.
• Plan and market events and educational programs; conduct research and document curation.
