Job summary

Aramark is seeking a skilled Carpenter II focused on historic preservation to perform carpentry, repair, and restoration work on historic structures and furnishings in California. The role requires mastery of traditional and contemporary techniques, and the ability to assess maintenance and preservation needs.

The position operates under California preservation requirements, safety procedures, and Aramark standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of carpentry, preservation, facilities maintenance, or closely related experience.
• Experience with historic structures and preservation preferred.
• Skilled carpentry including millwork, woodworking, fabrication, repair and installation.
• Knowledge of preservation techniques, traditional methods, masonry and stonework preferred.
• Ability to read and follow blueprints, specs, and work orders.

Responsibilities

• Actively participates in required training and development programs.
• Performs skilled carpentry, preservation, repair, fabrication, maintenance, and construction work on historic structures and furnishings.
• Conserves, protects, repairs, and preserves historic furniture and architectural features using in-kind materials.
• Builds and restores wooden items including furniture, doors, windows, cabinets, trim and millwork.
• Identifies wood species and materials for repairs to ensure in-kind work.
• Installs and restores building fixtures and millwork per standards.
• Operates woodworking equipment and power tools safely and effectively.
• Documents work performed, materials used, and time spent using established processes.
• Maintains safety and compliance with regulations and Aramark standards.
