Job summary

Congress Hall in Cape May seeks a hands‑on Maintenance Technician to keep our historic properties safe, functional and welcoming. You will perform minor electrical, plumbing, A/C, painting, wallpaper and carpentry repairs across guest rooms, public spaces and cottages, and log all work in our maintenance system.

You will respond to guest requests promptly, assist with seasonal transitions, and collaborate on larger projects while serving on the Fire Alarm Response Team to protect guests and

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum three years hands‑on experience in minor electrical, painting, plumbing and A/C repairs.
• Ability to obtain and maintain government licenses or permits.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs and upkeep across guest rooms, public spaces, dining areas, and cottages.
• Log all work activity in the maintenance software from start to finish.
• Ensure fire alarms, emergency lighting, and exit signage are operational.
• Respond promptly to guest room calls with professionalism and minimal disruption.
• Assist with seasonal transitions, winterization, and reopening tasks.
• Support maintenance of historic cottages and special projects as needed.
• Collaborate with the team on larger projects and daily operations.
• Serve as a member of the Fire Alarm Response Team and assist with guest safety.
• Attend all scheduled training sessions and team meetings; flexible hours as required.
