Job summary

The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation is seeking a motivated Landscaper to join the Landscape Department. You will perform mowing, garden maintenance, and hardscape installation while maintaining safety and quality standards. Qualifications

• High school diploma/G.E.D., plus experience with direct garden and landscape maintenance.
• Requires a valid Virginia driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Perform mowing, watering, weeding in gardens and landscape beds.
• Assist with installation and maintenance of hardscape materials and plants.
• Attend daily briefing meetings and complete work timely under Lead Horticulturist guidance.
• Interact with staff and visitors, answer questions and provide directions as needed.
• Operate landscape equipment (mowers, trimmers, edgers, blowers, etc.).
• Clean storm drains, swales and catch basins as directed.
• Follow safety standards and OSHA guidelines to ensure safety.
• Will operate large equipment (tractors, loaders, dump trucks, snowplows) and use PPE.
• Maintain tool inventory and proper equipment use and safety.
• Work per department policies and Virginia regulations; perform special projects as assigned.
• This position is essential 24/7 with on-call response for emergencies and storms.
