Job summary

US Offices, Boards and Divisions in Washington, DC seeks a Historian (GS-14) to support the Assistant Directors for Museum Management and Library Services. The role contributes to institutional knowledge, collections documentation, historical interpretation, and digital modernization initiatives.

The position advances the department's mission to preserve, interpret, and communicate the nation's history to internal and external audiences.

Qualifications

• Degree in history or related field with at least 18 semester hours in history; master's degree or higher preferred.
• Or combination of education and experience: courses equivalent to a history major with at least 18 history hours plus relevant experience or additional education.
• For the GS-14, one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least GS-13 in researching files, archives or library collections with analytical integration of archival materials.
• No substitution allowed at the GS-14 level.
• Must meet all qualification requirements by 10/09/2026.
